Corjuem Fort is in Corjeum island near Aldana. Different from Aguda fort or Chapora fort, this place is not flocked by tourists. It is a perfect offbeat historical monument to visit in Goa. The fort dates back to the 16th century when Marathas ruled Goa and foreign forces were trickling into India. Its construction is impressive and the structure is alike many other forts in Goa. The peaceful aura of the fort also makes it a great outing with friends on weekends.

The waterfall is breathtaking and can be a great place to visit during the monsoon along with the Corjuem fort and Pandava caves. Though tiny compared to other waterfalls in Goa, it shines in its way. The natural bounty of hills adjoining it heightens its beauty though it's only 50m and 7m wide. The murmur of water as it cascades salves our minds. The mesmerizing aspect of the place is its history dating back to the 6th century. Harvelem waterfall has got something for everyone!&nbsp;

Survey of India. Ever wondered about the blueprint of the Portuguese? Well, the Aguada fort has it all! Set on the west coast it has a picturesque view of the Arabian waters. Enormous bulwarks, a lighthouse, storage spaces and secret tunnels form this defence fort. It is truly a wonderful sight and is one of the best-preserved colonial structures in the country.&nbsp;

Corjuem fort is a place worth visiting if you are interested in Goa’s history. Though it is small in size, the fort is no less magnificent compared to others. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it is a perfect hangout spot where one not only gets to know about its history but also admires the beauty of the fort. Visiting the fort during June-July is usually recommended.

Corjuem Fort is an archaeological site in north Goa. It was rebuilt by the Portuguese in 1705 when they colonised Goa. Though the fort is now partly ruined it tells the tale of the colonial rule of the Portuguese in Goa. The fort served as a barrier against the Maratha regime though it originally was under the Maratha lands. It is a protected monument by the Goa government and is undergoing a facelift along with the Sanquelim Fort.&nbsp;

The fort is square-shaped and has ramparts on all four corners with steps leading to them. It is made of hard laterite stones and still stands strong even now. It is placed in a strategic location to easily trace enemy movements. Currently, the fort offers a beautiful view of the nearby island and Mapusa river, a tributary of Mandovi. During the monsoons, it is blanketed in lush vegetation and is a spectacular sight.

Lamgau caves are essential educational and cultural sites in Goa. The carvings on the caves depict Hinduism and Buddhism legends. Trek to the cave via Lamgau village is recommended as it is an incredible opportunity to meet the locals. Though much of the cave is ruined it helps us better understand the confluence of different religions in Goa. The shrine in the cave is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Nandi. It is one of Goa’s offbeat places hardly explored thereby providing an exciting weekend activity.&nbsp;
