Anchuruli Waterfalls (also spelt Anjuruli) is a surreal location definitely worth visiting, located among the gushing locations in Western Ghats and providing an enchanting view of the semi-evergreen forests grasslands. The water from the Erattayar River is used to power the Idukki hydroelectric project. A 2-km-long tunnel connects Erattayar and Anchuruli, carrying water to the lake. Though the tunnel is dangerous, it is a fun place to walk, especially for adventure seekers.

The Cheruthoni Dam, located in Kerala's Idukki District, is the largest concrete gravity dam close to the Idukki Arch Dam, standing 138 metres tall. This third-highest dam in the country was built across the Periyar River.
