How to reach Dawki, Shillong (Meghalaya):

  • By Air: The nearest Airport is the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport (GAU) from where you can easily take a cab or taxi to Shillong Barabazar and take a local taxi to Dawki.
  • By Road: Once you arrive at Guwahati ISBT, you can take a city bus or a cab from ISBT to Shillong, and then take a local cab to Dawki.
  • By Train: You can arrive at Guwahati Railway station from where you can take a cab to Shillong. Shared taxis are available from Barabazar in Shillong to the border in Dawki in the morning.

Know before you go Scuba Diving In Shillong, Meghalaya:

  • Timings should be strictly followed as an activity with time constraints can be missed.
  • The minimum age should be 11 years.
  • Avoid consuming heavy food or alcoholic beverages.

How To Reach


By Air:One can fly to the Shillong Airport(SHL), located 35 KM away at Umroi. It is well-connected with the nearest metropolitan, i.e., Kolkata. From the airport, cab services may be availed.

By Road:A number of ASTC & MTC buses make it convenient for travellers to reach Shillong from Guwahati. You can also drive to Shillong from Guwahati via NH 40.

By Train:Guwahati Railway Station(GHY) is the closest railhead to reach Shillong. It is located at about 135 KM distance from Shillong & is connected to the major cities of India.
