About Harishchandragad Trek:

  • Harishchandragad, primarily based in the Ahmednagar district, is thought to have originated during the Kalachuri dynasty. The various caves present here, mostly of Lord Vishnu, was carved out in the 11th century. These caves are a major tourist attraction and needs to be visited.
  • The ancient forts and temples present here, point to the idea that these originated during the medieval period, which later came under the control of Moghuls.
  • The Forts here have strong fortifications have many entry routes including Junnar gate route, Sadhale ghat, Nalichi Vat, Indore Vaat.
  • It gives terrific importance to the Malshej Ghat. The spot has beautiful views of mountains and lakes which can be seen through mist and fog. 
  • Give the trek a shot to enjoy the views, while at the same time know more about our history and culture.

  • You would initially meet at one of the points assigned to you and talk to your instructor.
  • Next day, reach the base village and relax for some time in the bus.
  • The Instructor will let you know about the rules and regulations that one must follow during the trek.
  •  You would visit the Kedareshwar temple, Harishchandra temple, Pushkarni caves and see the beauty of the place.
  • Next, you need to visit the Konkan kada and have a fun evening, relaxing and being amazed at the shape of it.
  • Soon after, descend from the place, reach the base village and travel to the railway station.

By Road:One of the easiest routes to reach Nashik by road from Mumbai is via NH 3. Several private buses and buses run by MSRTC provide luxurious reach to the city of Nashik.

By Train:Various trains stop at Nashik station which is known as Nasik Road Railway Station(NK). Since trains run on a daily basis between Mumbai and Nashik, there is no issue in reaching the place.
