Know Before You Go Gaumukh Trek For 9 Days :

  • A modest day bag (up to 15 liters) and a backpack or rucksack (at least 55 liters) for the summit day.
  • Raincover for Rucksack, Poncho, and Raincoat.
  • 2 Quick Dry T-shirts, ideally with full sleeves, and track pants.
  • Warm Jacket—ideally a down jacket or an equivalently thick jacket—to fend off the chill at night.
  • Shoes that are comfortable and support the ankle. We advise you Quechua Forclaz 100 or equivalent footwear.
  • An upper or jacket made of fleece.
  • For insulation at night, use suitable thermals.
  • Sun Hat or Sunscreen (SPF 30+) Lip Balm and Cold Cream.
  • Dark shades Spectacle wearers may have photochromatic lenses in their frames.
  • At least two pairs of standard cotton socks and two pairs of heated socks.
  • One set of slippers or sandals.
  • Woolen cap and gloves for the evening Personal care items: slippers, light towel, toothbrush, toothpaste, liquid soap, and toilet paper (Avoid wet tissues as they are not eco-friendly)

By Road:Uttarkashi can be reached by a number of buses and taxis from the major destinations like- Rishikesh, Dehradun, Tehri, Barkot, etc.

By Train:The Rishikesh Railway Station(RKSH) is the nearest railway station to reach Uttarkashi situated at 143 KM on NH 58. From the station, taxi or bus services may be availed.
