Know before you book

Physical Fitness:

Before booking a cycling activity, make sure to assess your physical fitness. Cycling can be physically demanding, so it's important to be in decent shape. You can start with shorter rides and then slowly increase the distance as your fitness improves.

Proper Gear Fit:

Make sure that your bike and cycling gear, such as helmet and shoes, fit comfortably. Ill-fitting gear can lead to discomfort and injuries during your ride.

Bike Inspection:

Before you start cycling, inspect your bike for any damage or maintenance issues. Make sure that tires are properly inflated, brakes are working, and gears shift smoothly.

Appropriate Bike Type:

Choose the right type of bike for your cycling activity. For instance, road bikes are best for smooth roads, while mountain bikes are designed for off-road trails. So, pick a bike that suits your planned terrain.

Traffic Awareness:

If you’re cycling on roads, always obey traffic rules, signal your intentions, and stay visible to drivers. Also, try to wear bright clothing and use lights, especially if you’re riding at dawn or dusk for better safety.

Helmets and Protective Gear:

Always wear a properly fitting helmet, even for short rides. Protective gear like gloves and knee pads can reduce the risk of injury in case you suffer from an accident.

Dressing Appropriately:

Dress in layers and wear weather-appropriate clothing. If you’re going in cold weather, wear thermal layers, while in hot weather, go for lightweight, breathable fabrics. Don't forget to carry sunscreen and sunglasses on sunny days.

Stay Hydrated:

Bring enough water to stay hydrated during your ride, especially on hot days. Dehydration can lead to fatigue and heat-related illnesses.
