About the Parvathamalai:
- Parvathamalai also called Parvatha Malai and Parvathagiri is a sacred Hill dedicated to Lord Karthikeya. It lies in the Tiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu nestled in the Eastern Ghats. On your way up to the summit, several Lord Shiva Temples greet you, while at the top you are blessed with a Temple of Lord Karthikeya.
- Reaching the top by crossing several challenging trails filled with stone stairs, rocky terrains, muddy trails and narrow passages of uneven stairs is worth to take it. The journey to the top of Parvathamalai Hill not only fills you with thrills but also takes you back to the historical days and showers you with the spellbound beauty of natural treasures.
About the Parvathamalai Trek:
- Arrive at the small village called Thenmathimangalam and at the Parvathamalai entrance point, where our wonderful trekking journey begins.
- After 30 mins trekking through mango farms and catching glimpses of the culture of Tamil Nadu we will reach one of the first impressive and spiritual spots, Sri Pachaiyamman temple.
- After visiting this beautiful temple, we will move ahead to Veerabhadra temple which we will reach after passing through Shri Anjaneya Temple.
- As dense forest surrounds us, with its magical aroma and rare species we will keep trekking higher and soon reach Veerabhadrar temple where free food and clean water are available and is the last spot for electricity.
- We will soon be climbing the toughest part of the hike as there will be a long flight of stairs. More than 1200 steps are awaiting us but the beauty of our surroundings and the positive ambience will keep us going.
- Trekking up to Kadaparai Hill through a steep rocky path will bless us with the magnificent views of Jawadhu Hills and Kadaparai Hill itself. The mystical clouds filling up the open sky canvas is a blissful moment.
- Trekking through iron ladders, and iron steps, and climbing up through a narrow gap of uneven rocky steps with huge boulders on either side will take us to Parvathamalai temple on top of the hill.
- End your trip with another 2-3 Hours of Trek down to Thenmathimangalam Village. Wave goodbye and take the journey back home carrying back loads of memories of the trek.

Know Before you go for the Trek:
- For safety purposes, this activity is not recommended for women who are more than 3 months pregnant, anyone who has had major surgery has a broken leg/arm, has chronic back or neck pains, etc.
- The instructor reserves the right to reject any participant deemed unfit to be part of the activity.
- The activity might be delayed or postponed due to weather conditions. In such a scenario, the next best possible time slot will be informed.
- Participants are not allowed to carry any sharp object, lighter, luggage bag, alcohol, knife, etc
- Participants are requested to report at the venue at least 30 minutes before their chosen time slot. Timings must be strictly followed, as the activity is strictly time constraint
- Participants must pay attention to the guidelines given by the instructor before and after the activity.
- Avoid consuming heavy food or alcoholic beverages before and after the activity.
- Any personal expenses or items of a personal nature will not be included in the package. Any meals or transfers not mentioned in the itinerary are to be considered an exclusion in the deal.
- Guidelines issued by the respective state government are to be followed. Social distancing is to be maintained. Frequent hand sanitization and the use of masks are recommended.
- ID proof is mandatory for each guest at the time of booking, and also upon arrival. PAN card will not be considered valid address proof.
- All foreign nationals must share their passport and visa details at the time of booking, and also upon arrival.
- Any breakage or damage of any items will be charged at actuals.

What is the best time to take Parvathamalai Trek?
It is recommended to trek during cold weather when summer heat and rainfall won't be a bother. Trekking between October to February is the ideal time to join the trek.
What is the Difficulty level of the Trek?
The Hill having steep ascents with uneven steps makes the trek moderately difficult. To cover the trek you must be physically and mentally fit to endure the difficulty.
Are there any shops En route?
You will find some small shops on the way to the top. The prices may be much higher, so it is advised to carry sufficient water and eateries before starting the trek.
Is there specific clothing I have to follow?
There is no such rule for dress code during the trek. However, it is recommended to wear comfortable trekking clothes and a good pair of trekking shoes or any footwear with a good grip to navigate through uneven trails.
Are there any resting points during the trek?
The trek to Parvathamalai Hill is quite challenging and you will have several points to rest before reaching the top of the Hill.
Can I join Parvathamalai Trek if I have a fear of heights?
The trek has steep ascents and uneven trails. If you have a fear of heights, it is recommended to consult your doctor and assess your comfort level. You will also have a resting point in the trek and cover the journey at your own pace.
