About the Parvathamalai:

  • Parvathamalai also called Parvatha Malai and Parvathagiri is a sacred Hill dedicated to Lord Karthikeya. It lies in the Tiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu nestled in the Eastern Ghats. On your way up to the summit, several Lord Shiva Temples greet you, while at the top you are blessed with a Temple of Lord Karthikeya.
  • Reaching the top by crossing several challenging trails filled with stone stairs, rocky terrains, muddy trails and narrow passages of uneven stairs is worth to take it. The journey to the top of Parvathamalai Hill not only fills you with thrills but also takes you back to the historical days and showers you with the spellbound beauty of natural treasures.

About the Parvathamalai Trek:

  • Arrive at the small village called Thenmathimangalam and at the Parvathamalai entrance point, where our wonderful trekking journey begins.
  • After 30 mins trekking through mango farms and catching glimpses of the culture of Tamil Nadu we will reach one of the first impressive and spiritual spots, Sri Pachaiyamman temple.
  • After visiting this beautiful temple, we will move ahead to Veerabhadra temple which we will reach after passing through Shri Anjaneya Temple.
  • As dense forest surrounds us, with its magical aroma and rare species we will keep trekking higher and soon reach Veerabhadrar temple where free food and clean water are available and is the last spot for electricity.
  • We will soon be climbing the toughest part of the hike as there will be a long flight of stairs. More than 1200 steps are awaiting us but the beauty of our surroundings and the positive ambience will keep us going.
  • Trekking up to Kadaparai Hill through a steep rocky path will bless us with the magnificent views of Jawadhu Hills and Kadaparai Hill itself. The mystical clouds filling up the open sky canvas is a blissful moment.
  • Trekking through iron ladders, and iron steps, and climbing up through a narrow gap of uneven rocky steps with huge boulders on either side will take us to Parvathamalai temple on top of the hill.
  • End your trip with another 2-3 Hours of Trek down to Thenmathimangalam Village. Wave goodbye and take the journey back home carrying back loads of memories of the trek.
