About Vikatgad Peb Fort:
- The governing forces largely used the Peb fort, also known as Vikatgad, as a storehouse and lighthouse. It rises to a maximum elevation of 2,050 feet. In clear weather, the hill's strategic location offers a commanding view of the Chanderi fort, Nakhind hill, Malanggad, Tahuli, Prablagad, Kalavantin, and Matheran plateau.
- The hill's special position allows it to have a comprehensive perspective over the entire Matheran range. At the top of the fort, a temple has been built that is said to house Swami Samarth's footprints. But beware of the monkeys. Magnificent sight is waiting for you if you can brave them!
About Vikatgad Peb Fort Trek:
- The journey of Vikatgad Peb Fort Trekking starts at 06:10 AM by taking the Karjat fast local which will take us through our pick-up points i.e. Dadar, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Thane, Dombivli, Kalyan, and finally to Neral Station.
- We will have a quick breakfast break at Neral Station and move to Matheran and start our trek to Peb Fort via the Troy train route. Once we reach there we will have some time there to enjoy the view.
- Then we will start descending via the same route and reach Matheran around 04:30 PM and Neral Station at 06:00 PM. Then we will take the CSMT train and will be back to our respective places.
