About Patta Fort, Pune:
- Vishramgad is also popular as Pattaya Fort or Patta Fort. It became renonwed after Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj rested there along with his navy. Later Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj renamed the castle as Vishramgad. You can sight numerous windmills on the Pattewadi route.
- Vishramgad is situated towards the eastern side of Kalsubai Peak range along with other forts like Aundh, Bitangad. Base village Patte wadi is a tiny village with around 30 - 35 settlements. You can sight the canon holding historical importance at the base village of Pattewadi. You would be discovering Vishramgad fort and exploring Ambarkhana, Darukhana: where weapons and other war equipments were stored. You can find Buruj lieing in the north, Tatbandi lieing in south along with Pattai Devi temple and Trymbak Darwaja.
About trekking to Patta Fort from Pune:
- You will be gathering in Sarasbaug, Pune. You will begin adventure from there leading towards the bottom village in a non-Ac bus.
- You will be having a delish breakfast and tea while you will be on board once you will reach the bottom village.
- A briefing would be given to you, once you reach the place. Followed by that, your hiking will take place.
- Soonafter, you will reach the pinnacle around 12:30 PM. Your one way trek is of 3 hours duration.
- Once you have reached the pinnacle, you can catch lovely glimpses of the castle. Now you can gulp the lunch you have brought.
- Around 2:00 PM, your descent will take place. This is suitable for any group of people, be it relatives, friends, and professional circle.
- After you have reached the base village, you will be moving back to Pune and you will be served tha cup of night tea on your route.
