- Kashmir Great Lakes Trek is a trek that leads us through beautiful Alpine forests, alluring snow-capped mountains and lush green meadows to take us to the majestic lakes of Kashmir. It is located amidst the massive mountains and is like every other secret jewel of Kashmir in that it confirms Kashmir's reputation as heaven on earth.
- Every day is a 360-degree panorama of wild mountains, grassy meadows, and turquoise alpine lakes, with more than seven of these lakes and five distinct valleys to explore. One of the most beautiful and serene lakes available in Kashmir which not only gives us the wonders of nature with the most bewitching sights but allows us to be adventurous in the valleys of Kashmir.
About Kashmir Great Lakes Trek from Srinagar:
- Our trek will start at a beautiful place called Srinagar from where we will kickstart our journey by getting on a scenic drive of about 3 hours covering 100 km to Sonamarg camp, our first destination.
- The next day our trekking adventure begins around the beautiful Thajwas glacier and Sonamarg town and takes us to the luscious and vast Nichnai meadow, after 7 hours we'll reach our destination at Nichnai.
- An exciting day awaits us today as we trek through the Nichnai Pass(4080m) and trek towards the valley of medicinal plants or Vishansar Valley and soon visit the mesmerizing Vishansar Lake and our campsite will be near this lake with alluring views that will leave you speechless.
- An adventurous day is before of us as we will cross the highest pass today, Gadsar Pass(4180m) from where we can see the twin lakes, Vishansar and Krishansar and trekking down the Gadsar Valley will take us to the splendid Gadsar Lake with even more beautiful surroundings.
- The next day we will be leaving Gadsar Valley and from Rasbal we will trek through seven small lakes of Satsar before we reach Megandoab near Zajibal Pass, our destination for today.
- Another exciting day is in store for us as we will be trekking through our last pass today Zajibal Pass (4080m) and be rewarded with the breathtaking view of Mount Haramukh (5300m) at the top and an even better view of twin beautiful alpine lakes of Gangabal and Nundkol at its foot.
- The last day of trekking is upon us as we make our way towards Naranag village, passing by the meadows of Trunkhol and Bodpathri. At Naranag village, our drive back to Srinagar will be waiting for us. With our arrival at Srinagar our beautiful trekking journey comes to an end.
