About Irshalgad Fort:

  • Sister fort to Prabalgad, Irshalgad Fort is located in between Matheran and Panvel in Maharashtra.
  • The fort was built under Maratha rule when Chattrapati Shivaji had captured the region of Kalyan.
  • The Fort was used as a watchtower in the earlier times, as it was easy to keep a track of movements of enemies from above the Fort.
  • Irshalghad is thought to have a Nedhe, which in Maratha means a natural hole in the mountain.
  • You get to see beautiful views of Morbe dam, Karnala fort etc from this point.


About the Activity: 

  • Come to the given meeting location which is, SGNP main gate, Borivali. Your instructor will give you details about the trek and rules and regulations to be followed.
  • Soon after that, reach the base village and meet your teammates.
  • After you have reached the base village, have breakfast and head out for the trek.
  • Enjoy the view for a day, and head back to the base village in the evening.
  • Soon after that, you will travel to Mumbai.
  • Your trek ends here with beautiful memories.
